Amazing how headlines say a lot about the papers, when they cover the same ground.
On the U.S. visit of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, the Hindu has a seven-column banner that screams
"Manmohan expresses satisfaction over talks"
And then, in a teeny second line in double-column
"U.S. to cooperate with India
in civilian nuclear energy."
The Times of India:
"India, US now N-buddies."
Vijay Times:
"US gives India N-recognition"
Indian Express:
"Singh, Bush press civilian nuke button"

i was shocked to read what one blogger-journlaist had to say about the behaviour of mysore journos last week...
from ur posts i gather that u'r bangalore-based. so i wd like ur take on this...
if we were to believe this blogger-friennd of ours, the husband of ndtv newscaster nidhi kulpati was found dead under mysterious circumstances in a mysore hotel. nidhi was at a crematorium with the body in mysore when a bunch of local photojournalists accosted her, threatened to go on a sit-in demo and all because the lady prevented them from taking pics of the body!!!
if this is indeed true, i cannot think of anything more obnoxious and inhuman. can we stoop to these levels? and still call ourselves human beings?
hope u shed some light on this.

this is serious. when did this happen? let me chck
I dont know what the Mysore media did but I am not surprised. On the one hand it is in bad taste, but on the other hand, it is also a dilemma for media in cases of unnatural deaths...just in case this turns out to be a crime story. I am told this was only a heart attack, in which case the media should have left the person alone. And I don't think TV anchors are the kind of celebrities needing an extra eagle eye of the gossip variety. Bad taste is not on.
